Robert Minutello ’87 is an interventional cardiologist and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. After graduating from Poly in 1987, Rob attended Brown University for undergraduate studies. After one year working at DE Shaw & Co, a multinational investment firm, he matriculated at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He was the recipient of the Missouri Medical Association award at graduation in 1996. He subsequently returned to New York City for his postgraduate residency and fellowship training in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology, all at Weill Cornell Medical College, and, upon completion of his training in 2003, joined the Cardiology Division as a faculty member. He served as Director of the Interventional Cardiology fellowship program for well over a decade, responsible for the clinical teaching, training, and academic mentorship of a generation of cardiologists. As an active interventional cardiologist in a busy tertiary referral center, he has performed cardiac procedures in over ten thousand patients during the course of his career. Recently, he was appointed as Director of the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Queens cardiac catheterization laboratory, and simultaneously serves as Director of the Structural Heart Center, where he is bringing in needed leadership and expertise to offer state-of-the-art cardiac interventions to a broader and more diverse group of New Yorkers. In 2022, Dr. Minutello was the recipient of Poly’s Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Achievement.
